Care beyond hours
Support when we're closed.

- Chest pain or pressure
- Difficulty breathing
- Severe bleeding or major injury
- Sudden confusion, weakness, or other stroke signs
In an emergency
Fort St. John Hospital and Health Centre provides 24-hour emergency care. Do not drive yourself if you may lose consciousness. Call 911.
When we're closed, start with 8-1-1
One number covers every hour we are not open, whatever the concern.
HealthLink BC
HealthLink BC is a free provincial line, open every hour of every day. A registered nurse will talk through your symptoms and tell you whether to be seen tonight, visit a walk-in clinic, or wait for your family doctor.
For a life-threatening emergency, call 911 or go to the hospital emergency department.
Common after-hours questions
The clinic is closed and I am not sure how urgent this is. What should I do?
Call HealthLink BC at 8-1-1 any time, day or night. A registered nurse will talk through your symptoms and tell you whether you should be seen right away, visit a walk-in clinic, or wait to see your family doctor.
Will my family doctor know what happened after hours?
Bring any paperwork you receive to your next appointment, or let reception know when you call. That way your record stays complete and your doctor can follow up.
Can I leave a voicemail overnight for an urgent problem?
No. Voicemail is not monitored outside clinic hours. For an urgent problem when we are closed, call 8-1-1, and for an emergency call 911.
Back during clinic hours
We are open Mon – Fri, 9:00am – 5:00pm, closed 11:45am – 1:00pm daily, at 10011 – 96 Street.
